Description:

Prepares purchase orders in accordance to MRP.

• Create Release and Print Work Orders in accordance to MRP
• Analyze BOM’s for accuracy
• Analyzes the requirements of commodities including specification requirements, preferred suppliers and dates commodities are needed.
• Ability to negotiate and administer purchase orders in support of production needs.
• Work with Suppliers in order to develop a working partnership to achieve JIT deliveries and improved Quality.
• Assures that purchase contracts comply with company, government, and customer requirements.
• Works closely with Engineering on changes to drawings and specifications, and follows up with suppliers to revise and amend purchase orders.
• Communicates with suppliers to expedite and resolve problems and to obtain required material certifications, test reports and product specifications.
• Maintains electronic records and prepares reports of order status and expected delivery dates.
• Attends and participates in meetings, and provides order status updates.
• Following LEAN Principles to continually improve operations in a Team environment to streamline processes and work cooperatively and jointly with the Supply Chain to ensure JIT.
• Maintains Serialization logs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Knowledge of LEAN Principles

• Knowledge of Purchasing principles, procedures and terminology
• Knowledge of current versions of standard software applications, ERP.
• Prepare requests for proposal and purchase order specifications clearly and concisely;
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles – Identifying and eliminating waste from business processes, bringing improvements in quality, cost and delivery.
• Knowledge of parts and material specifications
• Ability to read engineering drawings; analyze quotes and exercise judgment in determining acceptable price.
