Job Summary

Responsible for engagement with assigned Business Unit(s) for the development of strategic plans, resource management, budget management, team and business communications, and escalation resolution. Answerable for all aspects of the relationship between Business Unit owners and IT, including the expectations of delivered functionality.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with business partners and acts as a liaison between information technology teams and the business partner. Advises business partners to shape their strategy regarding technology and ensure they are aware of IT service offerings.
  • Identifies, proposes and influences business solutions, negotiates deliverables and requirements across multiple business customers or organizations. Leads functional business process workshops with focus on developing and improving business processes.
  • Participates in development of business strategic planning and IT strategic planning. Provides overall IT strategy and guidance to Business Unit owner(s) to assist in identifying required IT support, project prioritization, expenditures and funding while establishing IT deliverables, objectives and managing expectations.
  • Works with business systems analysts to help define new capabilities. Leads in the development of business cases requiring IT-based solutions.
  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity to apply existing technologies for new business demand, process improvement, and cost efficiencies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to interact with senior and executive-level management; and to build strong relationships at all levels of staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required to understand and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner with key business partner.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking / judgment skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage change and inspire business partners to embrace change.
  • Expertise in process design and documentation methodologies, and design and production of quality deliverables, process and use case modeling, business case development.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent discipline preferred; Master’s degree in a Management or Technical discipline a plus.
  • At least five years of experience in project management and/or leading teams to plan and manage work activities in IT environment; experience in an IT and/or business management role within a large organization, including program and project management preferred.
  • Required: ITIL Foundation Certification (at hire or within 12 months in position).
  • Desirable: PMP, BRMP, CBAP, COBIT 5.
