JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager is responsible for securing contracts and/or customer orders. Works with the business unit team to identify opportunities to grow the division product mix, product applications, and strategies for maximizing revenue and profit performance.


KEY RESULTS AREAS

  • Business Development Manager Should Identify new business opportunities and drive them through the business unit to ensure success.
  • Should develop and maintain relationships with all levels of personnel at key customers.
  • Should Understand and react to the changing market landscape.
  • Should Coordinates information such as engineering specifications, drawings, market volume, and market direction between customers and internal organization.
  • Should Coordinate with Business Development Managers from our global Flexonics sites.
  • Should Financially - meet or exceed the company's profit targets.
  • Should maintain relationships with the Customers, Engineers, and Product Line Managers

Business Unit Director, Director of Engineering, and Director of Operations

Key Actions

  • Business Development Manager will develop the Sales Plan.
  • Works to research and develop new markets of business based on company core technologies and the needs of customers.
  • Close new business - grow sales revenue.
  • Assist in pricing, negotiation, terms, and delivery schedules for current and new products.
  • Develop strategies to protect the market position and presence.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory calling on regular customers and completing the cold call on prospective customers to identify a new business or resolve current issues.
  • Should be able to determine where the market is heading.
  • Articulate how our products and/or systems need to change in reaction to the market.
  • Lead Senior Flexonics' sales growth as our markets transition from internal combustion engines to alternative propulsion methods.
  • BDS should be the "Voice of the Customer"
  • Should be able to coach / mentor engineers on building rapport/trust with the customer.
  • Will capitalize on our global footprint and global customer contacts to win new business for Senior Flexonics.
  • Push sales/business development collaboration throughout the Senior Flexonics organization.
  • Should Understands market requirements and make a business case for each new project in development including the quotation and capital expenditure request preparation and analysis.
  • Analyzes current business financials and develops improvement plans when necessary.

EDUCATION

  • Business Degree, Marketing Degree, Engineering Degree, Sales

EXPERIENCE

  • Should have 5+ years of proven sales growth. Automotive background a plus
  • Should be able to Negotiation, Review Contracts, Solution Selling, Market Development, and marketing.

  • Represents the company at trade shows, association meetings, and other functions.
  • Create, prepare, and present presentations, proposals, and/or quotations to customers/prospects based on customer needs.
  • Ability to achieve goals or targets with a sense of urgency, without direct supervision, and ability to manage the organization.
