WECU is seeking a Loan Officer Assistant for our Business Banking department located in Bellingham, WA. In this role you will assist Business Banking Loan Officers as directed in the following functional areas: servicing, processing, and loan origination. Serves as resource for completing assigned projects tasks resulting from business lending. The position is also responsible for helping to ensure compliance with all Credit Union policies and procedures and with State and Federal regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Primary Functions:

  • Assists with loan servicing, including being the primary contact for receipt of annual loan review tickler items, file maintenance, and all member interaction.
  • Assists with loan processing, including ordering supporting documentation and preparing loan documentation for closing.
  • May answer general questions in person and over the telephone regarding loan products and rates, servicing, and funding. Refers current and prospective borrowers to the appropriate Loan Officer and may schedule appointments.
  • Serves as a backup to front reception when front reception is out of the office or on break.
  • Attend field and community driven functions to show WECU presence and support.

Additional Functions:

  • Stay current on rules, guidelines, and procedures using appropriate resources and research.
  • Actively cross sell other WECU products and services that would complement the member’s financial needs.
  • Stay informed in all aspects of WECU’s business plans, operations, changes to policy and procedure, as well as WECU’s history and philosophy.
  • Follow policy and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) daily to ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • BSA Specific Requirements: Understand compliance and complete annual training related to the Business Services Loan Officer position including, but not limited to, The Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act. Understand Bank
  • Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned by management.
  • Secrecy Act forms and procedures for monitoring and reporting suspicious activity. Notify the Compliance Department of any suspicious activities.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • College preferred.
  • Prior commercial loan processing and servicing experience preferred.

COMPENSATION:

The pay rate range for this position is from $23.75 to $34.36 per hour.
