Position Details
Title: Business and Technology Teacher
Building: Mason High School / In-Person
Compensation : Per the MDMEA Agreement ($41,017 to $85,433) Commensurate with experience
Mason High School is looking for an innovative teacher who has interest in business and technology. This person should have interest in teaching our current business courses as well as creating and developing a robust learning experience for students which may include APP development, animation, and other emerging technologies
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate and Highly Qualified Certification in Business with a GQ OR GX endorsement
Desired Qualifications:
- Business certificate preferred
- Integrates technology into the curriculum
- Ability to work in a team-teaching environment and/or interdisciplinary approach
- Uses innovative teaching techniques to actively engage all students in the learning process
- Ability to demonstrate relationship between classroom instruction and world of work applications
- Demonstrates effective classroom management
- Willingness to serve as an advisor or coach for a co-curricular activity
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Work with colleagues regarding content, assessment, and instruction.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning community both inside and outside the classroom.
- Provide availability to students and parents for education-related purposes during and outside the instructional day.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with some travel to other schools or field trip locations.
Schedule: Position begins 2023-24 School Year- Start date is August 20,2023
