Job Summary:

Assist in the execution of the commercial credit risk functions and analyses. Provides support to the Commercial Credit Risk Manager (“CCRM”) in the execution of all the business analytics related to the commercial, construction and commercial real estate loan portfolios and other complex credits. Prepare reports and provide insight analysis on assigned portfolio performance and asset quality.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation of recurrent Commercial Loan portfolio reports, such as, but not limited to, Delinquency reports, Ticklers, Risk Appetite, etc.
  • Provide close monitoring of the Commercial Loan portfolio performance, which includes Commercial C&I, Construction, Vehicle Floor Plan, Commercial Real Estate and all loans managed through the Special Assets Group across all operating regions.
  • Build collaborative relationships with analysts, internal clients and provide support as needed.
  • Assists in the administration of Moody’s Lending Cloud platform including support to end-users and managing future platform upgrades.
  • Prepares analysis in a clear, concise, and actionable format and assist in the development of plans and recommendations for mitigation strategies and tactics.
  • Assists and provides support for risk projects requiring advanced analytical, quantitative, and technical skills.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports to other areas, the Executives, Credit Committee or BOD as needed (i.e., Asset Quality, Concentration, Policy Exceptions)
  • Develop visual management tools (tables, graphs, dashboards), as needed, with different key performance indicators to provide visibility to Management of the different review efforts performed by the Corporate Risk Reviews division.
  • Assist in the review of commercial credit risk policies and procedures.
  • Understand and comply with applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the preparation of unit presentations and the execution of ad-hoc requests and special corporate projects.

Independence of Judgment:

The degree of judgment is related to the integration and coordination of varied elements and its application to specific subjects and the support to the creation and implantation of policies; development and implementation of policies, strategies and work methods of general application, business reporting; and the recommendation of action or decision on business sensitive subjects essential to the functions of the Bank.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.​Impact of Errors:The impact of errors of this position could affect critical Bank reporting and accounting matters. Also affects the Bank image through the regulatory agencies.Competencies:
  • Proficient in the use of software including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc., in addition to internal bank systems.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R, a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal – English and Spanish.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently manage multiple tasks and priority management.
  • Good analytic skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize initiatives and interpret information and translate to a presentation and/or reports.
  • Must be a cooperative team player.

Physical Demands:

  • Extensive reading and computer use is expected more than 50% of the time.
  • Receiving detailed information verbally, in person and by telephone is essential.
  • Physical and mental ability to perform the essential functions of the job as listed.
  • Able to verbally communicate effectively with others.
  • Regular attendance is necessary and essential to this position.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Science or related field.
  • Prior experience in data analysis, business analytics or related role, a plus.
  • Must be competent in the use of personal computer systems, internet applications and electronic mail, and various windows-based software applications to include, but not limited to, banking application, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • General understanding of business and financial fundamentals, with mathematical aptitude and advanced computer spreadsheet skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Interact and communicates with peers and management.
  • Speak and write fluently in both English and Spanish.
