The Burn Table Operator's responsibility is to properly and efficiently operate a CNC Plasma Burn Table and other fabrication equipment according to the needs of the operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a Multi-head CNC Oxy-Plasma Burn table.

• Load and unload plates of steel onto the burn table using overhead cranes while working safely.

• Understand and interpret blue prints and technical drawings.

• Conduct dimensional inspections of parts and check for quality requirements.

• Coordinate proper programming with CNC controls, making changes, or recommendations for changes as is appropriate. Efficiently nest, burn profiles insuring the highest plate yield is achieved.

• Responsible for safe operation, care and maintenance of shop equipment.

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, grinders and the like.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of three years of related experience operating a CNC plasma burn table.
• Must have the experience/ability to properly and accurately utilize measuring devices (Standard and Metric) within specific tolerances.

• Must be able to work in or travel through the metal shop with exposure to noise, dust and metal shavings.

• High school graduate or G.E.D. strongly preferred.
• Basic math skills required including being able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to work with computer programs and to convert from metric to standard measurements.

• Must be able to read, understand and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings and/or work orders.
• Valid state driver's license in good standing is required.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment, proactively contributing ideas to improve operations required.
• Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.
• Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
• Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
