The Department of Environmental Health and Engineering is seeking a Budget Analyst who will manage financial and administrative activities involving both non-sponsored and sponsored transactions. This position will be a member of the EHE Business Office and will report to the Administrator.

The Environmental Health and Engineering is a unique department that sits within Bloomberg School of Public Health and Whiting School of Engineering. This position will have the opportunity to learn about the processes of two schools within JHU. The position will be located within the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Initiate SAP transactions such as online payment requests, and shopping carts.
Process online forms for independent contractor, and Payment Works.
Process A/R documents to post checks/payments received from Sponsors/Donors.
Process travel reimbursements for a group of faculty via Concur
Prepare non-payroll cost transfers.
Track documents from creation to payment and trouble shoot any problems that may occur.
Serve as point of contact for questions regarding transaction policy and procedure.
Ensure all expenses are allowable and allocable.
Initiate Purchase Orders.
Clear commitments and close-out non-sponsored cost centers.
Maintains supporting documentation for all transactions.
Liaison between department and Bloomberg HR Shared the Services.
Submit data to BHRS team for processing of new hires, salary changes, position changes, reassignments, etc.
Work with Assistant Administrator and Administrator on onboarding and offboarding of new hires and terminations.
Serves as backup for Administrative Coordinator.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
One year of related progressively responsible experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
