Summary: Manage assigned brewer’s grain craft locations and effectively sell products at acceptable margin levels while managing A/R exposure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, organize and manage assigned craft locations at acceptable profit levels. The incumbent must accomplish this while following policies and procedures, developing and maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships, and managing the profit center in an efficient and professional manner.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Lead, support, and help foster safety culture and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Sell, service, organize and manage assigned customers and territory.
  • Merchandiser has authority to manage customers and territory under direction of Regional Manager and within the scope of established division policies and procedures.
  • Incumbent will effectively manage territory and customers in areas such as account receivable, business development, planning, marketing and promotions, nutritional services and customer/product non-performance situations.
  • Complete and maintain customer credit information and collect accounts receivable as necessary.
  • Merchandiser must be able to develop and maintain working relations with farmers, university extension personnel, allied industry personnel, consulting nutritionist, trucking sub-contractors and other employees and management.
  • Merchandiser must be creative, flexible, and able to work independently with little close supervision to incorporate planning and day-to-day selling into successful territory volume and profit goals.
  • Continuous, on-going improvement of sales and nutrition skills is important for the Merchandiser.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in planning and participating in customer meetings and trade shows.
  • Merchandiser is responsible for expense management and administration.
  • Develop a strategic plan to effectively coordinate all facets of the business to meet the needs of customers, suppliers, company and outside trucking, and personnel while achieving operation goals.
  • Consistently seek ways to maintain a more profitable territory. Be aware of market conditions, competing feeds and relationship to brewer’s grain values.
  • Insure proper execution of all daily activity to provide superior service to suppliers and customers.
  • Maintain the integrity of the CSC name through professional and honest dealings with all suppliers and customers.
  • Successfully operate within the policies, procedures and risk control parameters established by management.
Requirements:

Travel
Travel is required on a regular basis to meet with customers and breweries, etc.

Required Education and Experience
Incumbent must possess education or equivalent experience in sales and marketing, ruminant nutrition and computer ration formulation. Knowledge of commodity and feed markets and dairy and feed industry is also necessary.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting, use of computer, communication via telephone
  • Ability to navigate an office environment.
  • Travel is required on a regular basis to meet with customers and breweries
  • Standard hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. with weekend coverage as may be necessary.
