As the Branch Manager Trainee, your more typical responsibilities will include:

  • Learning all aspects of the store operations from current branch manager: Sales, Service, Rental, and Parts.
  • Counseling and training department managers to build their leadership and motivational skills.
  • Emphasizing and exemplifying that customer satisfaction is always #1 priority with all employees.
  • Performing job description reviews and performance evaluations on an annual basis.
  • Building teamwork to promote dealership image to employees, customers, and the community.
  • Assuring a clean, healthy and safe work environment for employees daily.
  • Managing and controlling inventory levels to maximize assets.
  • Reviewing inventory levels, sales and orders monthly with department managers to assure optimum levels.
  • Managing and controlling personnel levels to maximize profitability. Reviewing personnel levels quarterly with department managers to assure the business is properly staffed for efficient, capable and quality operation.
  • Managing and controlling all credit policies to minimize risk.
  • Developing and coordinating sales activities with department managers to maximize inventory turnover and return on assets.
  • Coordinating parts, service and whole goods specials throughout the year to maintain profitable activity and inventory turnover.
  • Developing annual business plan and budget with input from department managers.
  • Comparing operating statement monthly results to business plan and budget with department managers and adjust where appropriate.
  • Assisting in the collection of monies due on sales or rentals, as needed.


Qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree in business administration or management is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record – may need CDL
  • Minimum 3 years of previous management experience that includes both financial responsibility and personnel development.
  • Minimum of 5 or more years in agricultural equipment industry or related equipment dealership setting.
  • Basic computer skills along with basic math and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Physical Effort: Branch Managers must be able to operate a motor vehicle day or night. They must also be able to demonstrate equipment safety practices. Store Managers must finally be able to move over and under Construction equipment when necessary.


Working Conditions: Branch Managers will work both indoors and outdoors as necessary. They will frequently be around hazards from electrical, mechanical, and power equipment. There is occasionally extreme weather conditions as well.

Travel: As necessary.
