The Copeland Group, LLC provides a full range of professional association management services to community associations. Services include Administration, Finance, Major Projects, Maintenance, Personnel, Owner Communication and Web Services.

The finance staff includes three full-time experienced bookkeepers each responsible for a portfolio of client associations utilizing Caliber software.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper

REPORTS TO: Owner, Sacha Copeland

JOB PURPOSE: Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by posting daily activity, closing books monthly and producing monthly financial reporting package.

Bookkeeper Job Duties:

· Posts recurring and non-recurring journal entries, and maintains supporting documentation.

· Reconciles various accounts including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Bank Accounts.

· Balances general ledger and multiple fund balances on a monthly basis.

· Maintains historical records by filing supporting documents.

· Prepares and distributes financial reports and creates monthly reporting package, ensuring that all reports reconcile.

· Supports condo association managers in researching unusual accounting activity and budget variances.

· Answers customer and vendor questions as needed.

· Provides documentation for annual audits and tax returns to outside CPA’s.

· Works with a team to generate accurate and timely reports as needed.

· Prepare amortization schedules and manage loan repayments.

Skills/Qualifications:

· High School Diploma required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

· High degree of proficiency in office procedures, typing and machines.

· Must maintain confidentiality at all times.

· Three years of bookkeeping experience required, including monthly closing, budgets and supporting annual audits.

· Skilled with data entry, pays attention to detail.

· Highly organized and ability to establish new procedures where needed.

· Skilled at researching budget variances and reconciling activity.

· Knowledge of fund accounting for condo associations preferred, but not required.

· Knowledge and practical experience with basic computer skills, including Excel, Word and Adobe.

· Experience with a variety of accounting software, Caliber preferred.

· Familiar with networks, electronic file storage and data backup procedures.

· Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies.

· Uses knowledge and experience to suggest process improvements.

· Reliable and comfortable working in a team environment with deadlines and multiple priorities.

· Ability to work with a variety of users including condo managers, coworkers and condo owners.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,908.00 - $64,573.00 per year
