The Bookkeeper will work very closely and will assist the Company Controller and is responsible for interfacing with all facets of the Accounting Department (AP, AR, Billing, Job Cost) The Bookkeeper will ensure that Atlas receives payments for goods and services, and records these transactions accordingly. The Bookkeeper will include securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts, and resolving any discrepancies including the collection of customer invoices, ensuring accurate and prompt processing and payment.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures billings and receivables are correctly processed in a timely manner.
  • Addresses and corrects any discrepancies in accounts or billings.
  • Assists with all invoicing: receipt management, scanning, coding, reconciliation, coding, analysis and process design
  • Assists with A/R and A/P
  • Serves as a liaison between clients and Atlas to negotiate acceptable payment plans.
  • Refers overdue accounts to collections
  • Job cost/code setup
  • Preparation of monthly internal financial statements including WIP and closed job schedules
  • General ledger reconciliation including proposed journal entries
  • Provides or facilitates accurate reports and analysis on financial data and metrics such as cash forecasting, sales statistic information, and monthly net sales reports.
  • Assists Controller with daily, weekly and monthly deliverables
  • Work with the Controller on process enhancement and development in conjunction with team
  • Maintenance of debt schedule, production of amortization schedules, etc.
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of commissions

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years of related experience required
  • 3+ years QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience required; 5 years preferred
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
  • Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.
  • Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
  • Proficient in Google Drive and related applications.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
