Finance Manager - Job Description

To manage and maintain complete financial data for accurate reporting of the company’s books and records. The finance manager will assist the Dir. of Operations in ensuring the timely management of responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • Regularly maintain accurate and detailed reconciliations of all financial transactions and a balanced general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, financial statements, reports and month-end closings.
  • Ability to utilize and navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Monitoring for variances from the projected budget.
  • Manage sales and use tax compliance.
  • Prepare AR invoices and process customer invoice payments.
  • Perform data entry, journal entries as needed.
  • Maintain and improve processes and controls that are best practices, including compliance with Federal, State and local tax laws and regulation changes.
  • Work closely with the COO, CPA and Business Manager to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting details and on-going financial project and report needs.
  • Provide payroll back-up if needed.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.

General Office Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with vendors, staff, investors and the general public in a professional manner.
  • Communicate with customers when issues arise or when the accounts are past due.
  • Answer customer questions regarding billing and statements as needed.

Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Associates Degree required.
  • 2+ years of proven experience in bookkeeping using QuickBooksOnline preferred.
  • Proficient in QBO, Excel, Microsoft Office platforms.Experience with Macintosh OS and Google Workspace is preferred.
  • Experience in the construction and/or hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Regularly demonstrates a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Processes personal initiative with exceptional work ethic and integrity.
  • Agreeable to change in a seasonal business and changing environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision-making and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Conditions of employment:

  • Background checks are required and occur annually.
  • 5+ references required.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday.

Pay/Benefits:

  • Full-time position.
  • Benefits include: Health insurance, Vision, Dental, 401k match, and PTO.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience: Starting Range: $25 an hour and goes to market rate for background, degrees and experience.
