We are seeking a talented Bookkeeper/Accountant to help us create the future of the space industry in a fast-paced startup environment.

This role will be pivotal in ensuring that Lunar Outpost stays on track to achieve its goals by supporting company programs and management with a variety of daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Communication across multidisciplinary teams is important as this position will work in conjunction with project managers for purchasing and expense tracking. In doing so they will ensure that planning and processes are followed so Lunar Outpost can operate effectively as it continues to grow. They will also interact with outside accounting firms to ensure Lunar Outpost books are properly managed and bills, taxes and payroll are paid on time.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting or STEM field or an MBA
• 3+ year of relevant experience in a similar role
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills with a proven business acumen

• Knowledge of financial reporting and forecasting best practices
• GAAP and DCAA compliant recordkeeping
• Experience interacting with external bookkeepers and accountants
  
• Manage all functions relating to accounts payable and accounts receivables
• Process bi-weekly payroll and prepare related tax filings
• Writing, placing and tracking Purchase Orders
• Participate in special projects, ad hoc reporting and other general accounting duties as needed
• US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in similar role in the aerospace industry and/or a technology startup environment
• Experience working with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and an ERP such as Unanet, Acumatica, or NetSuite
