Position Overview
Transport Enterprise Leasing, LLC (TEL) is seeking a Body Shop Technician to join our team in our brand-new, 50,000 square foot reconditioning facility in Greenfield, Indiana. This larger, state-of-the-art facility sits on 40 acres and includes a full-length drive thru truck & trailer wash, a new 60 ft modified down draft paint booth, expanded parts storage room and heated floors.

The Body Shop Technician will repair or replace damaged body parts back to Pre-Accident Condition with factory and dealership specifications. Quality repairs need to meet or exceed the original factory fit and finish. The end result should be an invisible repair.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Review each work order, and estimator’s notes to understand repairs needed prior to beginning work on the truck.
  • Ability to use frame and measuring equipment per vendor procedures if applicable.
  • Perform initial teardown of truck and prepare for repair work.
  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Perform all repair procedures according to factory specifications and company policy.
  • Perform and sign-off on all quality check before sending truck to paint department.
  • Re-assemble painted truck and painted parts.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Perform a final quality check and review of work order prior to sending the truck to the detail department.
  • Work with apprentice or lesser skilled technicians in developing repair skills.
Qualifications:
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of the manufacturers and technical repair process.
  • Able to apply, sand, finish Fiberglass/ SMC, Plastics, Metal/ Steel and Aluminum
  • Must have through knowledge of Automotive paint finishing
  • Preferred knowledge of welding Steel, Aluminum and Plasstic
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
Wages:
$25 - $30 per hour, based on knowledge, skills and abilities.
