Job description

We are seeking to hire a BILINGUAL Medical Assistant for a busy Pediatric Office in Terrell, TX . This position is responsible for delivery of patient care and administrative duties under the direction of the healthcare provider and practice manager.

To be successful in the role, you will need to be certified from a medical assistant program or currently pursuing a Medical Assistant Certification with two years of prior experience in a medical setting preferably pediatrics.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients

Check-out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange laboratory services

Cleaning and preparing treatment rooms for clinical examination and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.

Greets and interview patients, obtains and records patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.

Preparing and administering medications and or vaccines for patients as directed by physicians.

Performing basic laboratory tests; Strep, RSV, COVID, Flu, Mono and Urine testing

Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.

Experience with electronic medical healthcare record systems preferably with Office Practicum

Answer telephones calls and directs them appropriately, able to follow protocol for phone triage of patients.

Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies

Perform other duties as assigned by practice manager or as requested by healthcare provider.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
