Job description
Manages daily activities in the organization's benefits function.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates and selects employee benefits (including health insurance, life insurance,
  • profit sharing, disability, pension, or retirement plans) with the goal of creating an
  • attractive and competitive benefits program.
  • Collects data on industry standards and practices to determine competitive
  • positioning of the organization's benefit offerings.
  • Regularly renegotiates or re-evaluates vendors in search of opportunities for cost saving.
  • Manages open enrollment: schedules and leads meetings or information sessions,
  • drafts and sends employee communications, answers questions or inquiries, and
  • transmits enrollment data to vendors or administrators.
  • Supports business M&A efforts by conducting due diligence and integrating new
  • employees into the company with a focus on benefits.

Education & Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of tangible experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles. Performs
  • complex tasks typically following established processes.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel
  • decisions.
  • Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may
  • have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural
  • change.
  • Ability to foster teamwork. Management skills. Oral and written
  • communication skills. Analytical thinking skills. Statistical knowledge. Ability to
  • meet deadlines. Mathematical skills.
