Nexus-PATH at LUTHER HALL is adding to our Youth Care Professionals (YCP) team! This role is similar to Behavioral Health Technician or mental health counseling or direct care roles at other organizations.
Nexus-PATH hires mental health professionals who primarily focus on youth and family mental health services.
Shifts are available to support 24/7 operations. Overnight shifts are AWAKE.

Nexus-PATH will provide a Sign-on Bonus in the amount of:

$2,000 Full-time only

$1,000 (Part-time 50% only)

As a YCP, you are an integral part of the daily life of a child residing at Luther Hall, a 24/7 Adolescent Psychiatric Residential Facility. You are part of the child’s care team, assessing and advocating for their needs on a daily basis. Our YCPs have the unique privilege of being a positive role model to children working to meet their goals, find their strengths, and heal. You get to know children on a personal level and become part of their cheer team, supporting them through challenges and celebrating their successes. As a YCP, you help children manage their emotions, navigate relationships, and learn from their experiences. A bachelors degree in a human service field and/or one year of mental health experience is preferred, but we are happy to provide training. Successful YCPs are patient, and find joy in the achievements and progress of the people they serve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Treatment Plan:

  • Participates in the treatment planning and review process;
  • Monitors residents to ensure individual adherence to treatment plans;
  • Facilitates group activities including development and delivery;
  • Attends necessary meetings to ensure open communication among stakeholders related to treatment plans.

Direct Care:

  • Supervises residents with daily living activities;
  • Positively reinforces goals and objectives of individual treatment plans;
  • Promotes appropriate behaviors while emphasizing and utilizing resident strengths;
  • Monitors resident behavior and responds to and/or reports accordingly;
  • Monitors resident family site visits;
  • Ensures residents comply with facility rules and regulations including check in/out procedures;
  • Uses behavior management techniques to de-escalate, redirect, or participate in physical restraints;
  • Escorts/transports residents to activities;
  • Administers medication as per doctor’s orders;
  • Promotes a therapeutic milieu and appropriate socialization

Other Duties:

  • Operates a motor vehicle to transport residents to various outside activities;
  • Complete appropriate documentation accurately and timely;
  • Follows process and communication methods consistent with performance quality improvement standards;
  • Completes Unusual Occurrence/Incident Reports; and Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 21 years of age required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services preferred
  • 1 year of mental health experience preferred
  • Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (offered onsite) within 90 days of employment is required
  • Must successfully pass Fit-For-Duty Health Screen prior to start of employment is required
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Because we partner with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), we follow the mandate requiring full COVID-19 vaccination for all our employees unless there is a medical or religious exemption in place.

  • We are required to have proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 as required by the CMS mandate.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • We provide employees the training required to minimize the risk of potential personal injury as it relates to working with youth.
  • Considerable requirement to exert moderate physical effort with a regular and repeated need to lift and bend. Exertion may require pushing, pulling and/or carrying up to 50 lbs and may cause moderate physical discomfort. Safety precautions are required.
  • Usually normal concentration and deadlines with periodic periods of sustained deadline pressure.
  • Rotating day/evening shifts required
  • Rotating weekend schedule required
  • Holiday rotation required
  • Less than 10% travel local required
