The ProMedica Finnegan Family Autism Center houses the Autism Early Learning Program (AELP) which offers early intensive behavioral intervention services for children diagnosed with Autism from the age of diagnosis through 6 years old. The program operates year-around with options for full day and partial day services with 1:1 ratios and options for small group as appropriate. Intervention utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and focuses on addressing skills in the areas of communication/language, play, socialization, behavior, and adaptive skills.


What sets us apart from other local providers? The AELP focuses on providing extensive initial and continuing in house training to behavior technicians. The AELP team is a supportive group of professionals who prioritize immediate feedback to help develop and encourage technician skill sets and development. Our team really knows their stuff! The Autism Early Learning Program prioritizes collaboration across providers by facilitating these opportunities weekly across professionals (BCBA, SLP, OT, and the Director of Autism Services). Position Summary:


The Behavior Technician assists in delivering behavior analysis services to children with autism under the direction and close supervision of the behavior analyst. The Behavior Technician is dedicated to providing the highest quality of safe care with compassion in partnership with each individual child, their team and their family. Primary duties include:

  • Implement approved ABA treatment plans including both skill acquisition programs and behavior reduction programs.
  • Implement all programs and interventions using behavior technology appropriately, neutrally and consistently.
  • Track and record child’s progress by maintaining daily records including daily data collection on all goals and writing objective session notes.
  • Participate equally with other team members in supervising and maintaining safety of children in all activities, both in and out of the center.
  • Maintain professional communication with families through authorized daily notes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of learning environment daily.
  • When children are not present assist with program needs that will enhance performance (creating new materials, schedules and reading pertinent research regarding applied behavior analysis, etc.)

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • Must have the ability to be self-motivated, work independently, exhibit enthusiasm and demonstrate patience with the students required
  • Documented work experience with children with autism is highly preferred
  • Must be CPR certified
