Job Summary:

The Bartender is responsible for the prompt and courteous service of beverage and spirits, as well as the mixing of drinks for cocktail service, bussing and serving food.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serve beverages to guests promptly and politely.
• Accurately complete requisition to maintain established par amounts to assigned bar.
• Pick-up daily order and record transfers to other bars.
• Keep glass shelving dust-free, mirrors clean and maintain proper liquor storage.
• Keep bar, storage areas and beer coolers clean and sanitary at all times and perform other cleaning tasks as scheduled.
• Properly sanitize blender cup, strainer, shakers, jiggers, knives and pour spouts.
• Pour accurate amounts of liquor and other beverages using jigger measuring tool.
• Complete closing reports and counting of cash for bank deposit daily and pay out tips to servers, bussers and bartenders.
• Must complete RBS training within first 90 days of employment.
• Monitor alcohol consumption and behavior of guests.
• Serve as cashier and assist servers as necessary.
• Buff glassware daily to maintain pars in assigned bar without spots or fingerprints.
• Polish stainless steel sinks and wells weekly.
• Fill out any work orders as a result of repairs that are needed in your work area.
• Cut fresh fruit for garnishes daily.
• Attend monthly meetings.
• Check driver’s license or Passport to verify age of those who appear younger than 30 years old.
• When employee receives a Cash Drop Variance, they must respond immediately to their manager.
• All due backs must be cashed by the Cashier and replaced in their bank daily or next scheduled shift if the Cashier is not available.
• Must count your assigned bank before and after each shift and maintain the balance of your assigned bank at all times. No borrowing allowed.
• Any PBC Key that has been checked out of security must be returned the same day at the end of your shift.
• Knows, models and integrates PBC culture (mission, values, and standards).
• Comply with the Pebble Beach safety and health policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

• Good math skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Food safety and RBS certifications required.
• Basic drink knowledge and previous beverage experience required.
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to continuously handle and balance heavy trays. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive hand use and firm grasping is required.
