At Cafe Sophie, we are seeking a hard-working barista to join our team and deliver exceptional service daily. As a team member, you will have the opportunity to perform, practice, and perfect all functions within the cafe such as: crafting delicious hot and cold drinks, keeping the cafe spotless, making delicious food, and most of all ensuring that our customers are having the best experience possible.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Craft delicious drinks such as espresso, cappuccino, and lattes with quality and consistency
- Take customer orders and provide exceptional customer service, making recommendations when needed
- Keep the cafe clean and organized, including cleaning equipment, tables, and floors
- Prepare breakfast items, sandwiches and pizzas in the wood-fired oven
- Operate the POS system and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
A barista opportunity is usually the beginning of a career, with that said, we still need people that are used to getting things done. Are you the type that completed your chores before your mom yelled at you? Do you have great attention to detail? Do you like to work in a fast paced environment? To be successful in this role, you will be more prepared if you have:
- At least 1 year of experience as a barista
- A deep understanding of different brewing methods and techniques, with the ability to make adjustments to achieve the perfect coffee drink
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
- The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Technical requirements: Experience with espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee shop equipment; knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures.
