Café Barista

We are a locally owned coffee shop looking to fill a part-time barista position.

We are focused on providing a welcoming customer experience, outstanding specialty coffee beverages, and quick grab and go food items in downtown Poulsbo, WA.

Position Overview: Coffee shop and marketplace in downtown Poulsbo, WA is looking for a part-time, experienced barista to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, punctual, and reliable individual who can work several shifts per week (weekend availability a plus). The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills preferred.

Essential Job Duties:

• Make quality espresso beverages following specific recipes.
• Provide outstanding service to every customer (greet customers, answer questions regarding menu and ingredients, etc.)
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. milk preference, sweetness level, etc.)
• Serve beverages and prepared food, such as cookies, pastries and muffins. Some minor heating for some food items is required.
• Monitor equipment for proper function and report any maintenance needs to management.
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Maintain cleanliness and safety guidelines in work area and throughout cafe.
• Keep coffee, food products, and merchandise stocked.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks in and around the shop during each shift.
• Ability to walk, bend, reach, and twist to perform duties, as well as lift and move up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

• Dedicated team player with ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail with presentation, preparation and cleanliness
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-moving environment.
• Self-motivated and independent work on occasion
• Ability to work on your feet for up to six hours per day

What we need from you:

• At least 18 years of age
• Have or able to obtain a valid food handler permit
• Morning availability
• Weekend availability
• Six months barista experience is required
• Outstanding attendance and punctuality
