The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Barge Dock Supervisor to work at our Brandenburg, KY location. The Barge Dock Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day operations of docking and unloading barges and other water vessels.

Responsibilities

The Supervisor will:

• Support safety and environmental initiatives including employee safety engagement; regulatory compliance and related training.
• Ensures equipment availability through effective and efficient scheduling of equipment and maintenance and repairs
• Develops, supports, and coordinate dock personnel
• Assigns and schedules work
• Ensures that tools and resources are available to personnel
• Coordinates teams to identify process improvements and to develop and document procedures
• Monitors product specification
• Manages equipment, doc procedures and costs
• Develops and maintains relationships with mill management, vendors, and operations management
• Assists the Operation Manager in developing budgets and business plans
• Requisitions parts and services
• Reviews and approves timecards
• Audits process and inspect work as necessary
• Runs KPI reports, analyzes data, and utilizes information for better decision-making
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in dock operations and Supervisory experience
• High School Diploma/GED – Some college/degree preferred
• Experience as a Barge Dock Supervisor on the Ohio River preferred
• Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and ability to implement related programs and controls
• Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors, tolerate multiple terrain and environmental variation
• Ability to understand financial data
• Computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Valid Driver’s License
