What You Have

  • The ability to report to work on time and ready to get to work, and touch base with your Banquet Captain when you arrive.
  • The ability to read and understand all details of Banquet Event Orders, including start time and beverage requirements.
  • The desire to greet all guests in a positive manner.
  • The willingness to quickly and efficiently handle all guest requests.
  • The flexibility to work nights and weekends.
  • The strength to move tables and chairs in and out of our banquet facilities and set them up for events according to provided floorplans.
  • The mindset to work safely per established safety standards, and report any potential safety hazards in the setup of event rooms, acting on them to create safe working spaces.
  • Effectively communicates with the kitchen, catering coordinators and banquet staff.
  • Assist other banquet personnel with maintenance (side work, opening, closing duties) as necessary.
  • Efficiently communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to the Banquet Captain.
  • Perform other related duties that may be assigned by Banquet Captain/supervisor/manager.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Basic knowledge of fine dining and good knowledge of wines/beverages
  • Interact with all levels of customers and hotel management
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints
  • Combined 2+ year's previous hotel and/or food and beverage service (Preferred)


Working Conditions

This position operates in event spaces, and restaurant setting. This position requires evening/weekend work and some work outdoors. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, pinching, falls and burns.

While performing the duties of this job hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate some tools, and various pieces of furniture and banquet equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. There is substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers.
