The highly recognized Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa is actively searching for a detailed, customer-focused, and organized Banquet Manager to lead our team of event professionals.

In-town apartment may be available for short or long-term housing during employment.

Job Summary:

  • Provides the resort with valuable, reliable service by ensuring events and weddings are well-organized and executed resulting in the complete satisfaction of the attending guests.
  • Coordinate the delivery of all food and beverage for functions held in the Resort and all details pertaining to functions being held in all banquet and meeting rooms including set up and take down.
  • Work with F&B Director to ensure all banquet staff are onboarded, trained, coached, disciplined, motivated, developed, and rewarded consistently.
  • Work closely with F&B Director to create effective, cost-efficient schedules for assigned banquet staff based on forecast and budget.
  • Assist F&B Director in the management and adherence to all banquet standards, appearance and uniform guidelines, time and attendance policy, steps of service and service standards, etc.
  • Work with F&B Director to ensure proper ordering and inventory is in place.
  • Management of special product needs based on BEO, receiving, product storage and organization of banquet storage areas.
  • Act as Banquet Captain and oversee banquet execution at time of event. Act as guest point of contact on date of event, ensuring guest satisfaction and approachability with any service need. Oversee success of food delivery, proper beverage standards, and requisition of liquor. Complete necessary banquet paperwork once an event concludes.
  • Oversee duties of banquet housemen, ensuring all set-up needs are met prior to an event.
  • Delegate event duties to other banquet staff as they pertain to BEO schedule. Ensure all duties are complete by using event checklists.
  • Proof and Print banquet food signage, meeting room signage, beverage menus, specialty menus, etc.
  • Expedite food regularly, practicing and training for proper timing of food courses according to BEO schedule.
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients and guests in all banquet areas, with a strong passion to elevate one’s experience. Act as a liaison between the F&B team and the guests to provide a truly wonderful and memorable experience.
  • Creating and maintaining an exceptional guest experience while motivating and training our staff that offers a 'Delight and Surprise' atmosphere. Leads the team to ensure outstanding internal and external customer service standards.
  • Assists F&B Director with entire banquet recruitment process to include; creative pro-active recruitment, interviews, references, hiring, training & development of staff.
  • Manage positive Employee Relations Standards and enforce all SOP’s that include; effective communication venues, coaching, counseling, evaluating, hiring & training of staff.
  • Creates a fun, energetic and team oriented working environment for entire staff.
  • Manages all; health, sanitation, safety and security, laws, policies and procedures in F&B banquet department.

Experience and Skills:

  • 2+ years of recent Banquet leadership experience.
  • Able to expedite, greet and host guests, and act as a banquet server as needed
  • Ability to work with F&B controls including excel, emailing, scheduling, cost management, inventory management, and review of revenue
  • MS Office Suite and instinctive computer skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to change, think quickly and prioritize effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment while maintaining calmness, composure, and hospitality
  • Must have flexibility with schedule to include evenings and weekend
  • Ability to furnish appropriate state mandated certifications (alcohol service training)
  • May be subject to successful completion of background check
