IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Assistant Vice President, Business Transformation that can report to one of the following offices:

  • Cheshire, Connecticut
  • Naperville, Illinois
  • Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Omaha, Nebraska

This role will be responsible for owning and driving a multitude of Digital Transformation initiatives to deliver on our future claims strategy. The AVP, Business Transformation will partner with Senior Claims and IT leadership to provide overall direction, guidance, and oversight of the strategy, development, implementation, governance, and administration of strategic business process and technology transformation. This resource will drive cost/ benefit analysis and work closely with business leaders and IT to establish strategic roadmaps and execution plans that balance the short-term needs and the demand for quick-wins with the progress necessary to achieve the long-term strategic vision for the business and the enterprise.

Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists senior Claims Leadership in high-level digital transformation strategy formulation, defining measurement of success criteria, and works across teams and functions to deliver digital transformation business insights
  • Partner in defining the claims digital transformation vision including creation of roadmap, communicating with business stakeholders, and ensures alignment with these business goals/objectives
  • Responsible for digital initiative development stages including planning, execution and continuous improvement of Claims workflows and systems
  • Help partners identify appropriate technical and process solutions related to to technology, architecture standards, and advanced analytics, and user experience, while serving as liaison to technical teams to ensure appropriate engagement focused on design/development/delivery
  • Leads strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future capabilities and systems across the organization.
  • Structures and manages the pace of transformation
  • Facilitates options and trade-off analysis for major project decisions around scope and investment prioritization. Understands and communicates technical and execution trade-offs back to the business
  • Serves as an advocate for business needs and priorities within the transformation program. • Champions the project within the organization and among the senior leadership team.
  • Leads development of the CBA specifically identifying project benefits and KPIs.
  • Translates the organization’s strategic direction and provides day-to-day business direction to the project team.
  • Identifies and orients stakeholders to the project; manages stakeholders and associated expectations throughout the project.
  • Accountable to the project sponsor and IT Steering Committee for major decisions and issue escalation.
  • Provides and/ or facilitates sign-off on key project deliverables (business requirements, UAT results, etc.).
  • Works collaboratively across matrixed organizations and partners with internal and external stakeholders to meet business goals.
  • Explore innovative technologies to further evolve the claims business model and claims customer experience.
  • Drive a team culture of value-based delivery and create a positive team environment where autonomy, mastery, and purpose are promoted through performance standards, coaching and development plans.
  • Should have strong project management, analytical, communication, influencing, and leadership skills to handle a variety of activities and complexities spanning the organization. You must be willing to work at both a tactical and strategic level.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Bachelors’ degree plus 10 years of related claims or insurance operations experience or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of process design, process reengineering and project management experience with trackable success records
  • 5 years direct leadership / management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the claims, operations, systems and integrations.
  • Experience and success in leading strategic transformation efforts of business operations
  • Recognized as an influential leader
  • Ability to independently drive multiple critical deliverables
  • Proven ability to promote the adoption of standardized output from a variety of platforms and sources.
  • Proven track record of interacting internally and externally with executive level leadership, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters.
  • Effective problem solver who anticipates issues, seeks out, and analyzes information collaboratively to propose solutions
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
    • Demonstrated success leading complex implementations with outstanding planning and organizational skills.
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • CAPM or PMP
  • Experience with claims processes and procedures. Direct claim handling and claim management experience are strongly preferred.
  • Industry designation such as AIC, CPCU, and similar are strongly preferred.

Compensation:

Please note, the annual salary range associated with this posting is $116,660 – $184,660. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit sharing opportunities and more. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographic location related to this specific role.
