The Equipment Services Department manages a fleet of over 3,000 vehicles. We provide services to our community by maintaining vehicles that journey over 24 million miles a year, covering 9,224 square miles of Maricopa County. We Require
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Two years of general automotive experience
-
Combination of post-secondary education or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
-
Valid Arizona Class D driver’s license upon hire

Completion of two years of an automotive trade school
Job Contributions
-
Perform general repairs on a variety of light-duty vehicles and equipment in an industrial shop environment

Inspect and diagnose vehicles
-
Conduct road tests on vehicles
-
Maintain service records and prepares reports to input information into the fleet tracking system

Maintain accurate inventory of parts and services
-
Ensure shop safety and cleanliness and abides by safety policies; identify safety hazards and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor

Consult with supervisor on vehicular problems and performance

Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment
Working Conditions
-
High physical work volumes, standing for prolonged periods, and working in a confined environment
-
Work is performed in an industrial shop setting
-
Ability to work in all-weather types (extreme heat, cold, wind, rain)
-
Must wear job protective equipment (i.e., uniforms, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes)

Ability to climb, crouch, bend and lift or carry 50 lbs. with or without the assistance of a cart or device
