Overview
We are looking for highly technical resources capable for providing Automation Engineering services for the Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology and Medical Devices Manufacturing industries.

Automation Engineer will be responsible to support internal projects and activities during the year 2023 – 2024 for the regulated industry (Pharma, Biotech, Medical Devices) in the North side of PR. The candidate must comply with the technical requirements and must be available for full time service during the remaining months of 2023 and part of 2024. The work will be performed on-site, and the resource must be available to be on site when required including weekends or holidays to support the implementation of the projects assigned. Working during holidays or weekend is not usual but might be necessary to comply with the project scope the contractor must be available.

The primary responsibility of the resources will be to support the installation, startup, and validation of new equipment. The equipment will be designed, develop and programmed by OEMs.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Troubleshooting and solve problems identified during startup and validation.
• Contact OES for support.
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities.
• Setup and tuning of the new equipment.
• Perform backups and/or restore of automation components such as: PLC, HMI, Vision System, Motion Control, RFID readers/gateways, Etc.
• Contact manufacturers and suppliers when necessary to obtain quotes or to identify solutions.
• Coordinate activities related to assigned projects and escalate when necessary to remove barriers that affects project scope and/or schedule.
• Support the project team with the necessary technical knowledge.
• Identify implications and impact with other existing equipment and/or software platforms.
• Actively participate in progress meetings to maintain affected departments up to date with project’s achievements and communicate action items necessary to keep the project on schedule.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience of Rockwell Automation products:
• Design and programing of CompactLogix PLCs (Required)
• Design and programing of FactoryTalk View SE applications (Required)
• Design and programing of FactoryTalk View ME applications (Required)
• Design and configuration of FactoryTalk Historian (Preferred)
• Knowledge and experience of software development using visual studio.
• Knowledge and experience with SQL databases.
• Knowledge and experience with Ethernet networks.
• Previous experience in regulated industry (Pharma, Biotech, Medical Devices).
• Knowledge and experience with Vision Inspection Systems.
• Knowledge and experience with motion control and machine safety.

Qualifications and Skills

• BS in Engineering
• Experience in Automation projects
• Experience with CSV regulations and guidelines such as cGMP, ISPE GAMP process, 21 CFR Part 11, 21 CFR 211.68, and Data Integrity
• Analytical Thinking / Problem Solving
• Teamwork oriented; able to work with technical experts, design team, and other departments.
• Quality and Results Oriented
• Computer Literate
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy.
