Job Title: Audit Team Lead Auditor - Environmental Compliance Audits

Location: Various Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Facilities

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Audit Team Lead Auditor with experience in conducting environmental audits. As the Lead Auditor, you will be responsible for leading a team of auditors and ensuring that all audits are performed in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of auditors in conducting environmental audits at various MDTA facilities in Maryland.
  • Develop audit plans, including scope, objectives, and methodologies.
  • Conduct audits in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Identify non-compliance issues and develop recommendations for corrective action.
  • Prepare audit reports and present findings to management.
  • Ensure that all audit work is performed within budget and on schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with facility personnel to gather information through good interviewing techniques and astute observations.
  • Train and mentor junior auditors in audit techniques, regulatory compliance, and report writing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Natural or Environmental Sciences, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in conducting environmental audits with at least two (2) years of the three years having been in a Lead Auditor capacity.
  • Working knowledge of Maryland environmental regulations and practices is strongly preferred.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Investigatory skills including the ability to gather information through good interviewing techniques and astute observations.
  • Knowledge in at least one compliance specialty area with the ability to adapt to those skills to a multi-media approach.

Location(s):

Environmental Audits will be performed at several Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) facility; however, individual facilities may be comprised of more than one location/building/structure, etc. to be audited.
