Audio/Visual Technician

Reports To A/V Team

Position Status

Part Time, avg of 4 hours on Sunday 10am-2pm; occasional Wednesdays for choir rehearsal

Position Description

The A/V Technician runs the sanctuary AV system, records & live streams worship Sunday mornings, uploads videos to YouTube, runs presentation software, and designs digital graphics/slides as needed. They must work each Sunday, from 10am to 2pm. The A/V Technician is responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment as needed which includes producing the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound reinforcement. This may include, but is not limited to, working with the Minister of Music, attending weekly Praise Team rehearsals, and supporting the audio needs of the people involved with the church service.

Ideal candidate is someone who is seeking an internship, interest in working in radio/broadcast/television, or seeking to obtain a volunteering opportunity.

Responsibilities

Pre-Service

  • Set up musician equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, projectors, TV monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires, mixing boards, etc.
  • Set up and operate sound equipment
  • Perform proper line check
  • Perform proper sound check; includes monitor mixes, proper volume settings, and eq/mixing process
  • Test and resolve equipment issues
  • Check in with ___________________ for worship schedule and any changes
  • Diagnose and correct system media issues as needed in an efficient manner

During Service

  • Adjust sound levels as needed
  • Follow Minister of Music or Bishop’s direction during service
  • Record and live stream the service
  • Follow any stage or schedule cues
  • Provide a distraction free service as it relates to audio production

Post Service

  • Return media to individuals if necessary
  • Talk with Minister of Music to identify if any issues occurred during service and how to resolve
  • Note any faulty/broken equipment
  • Clear stage of equipment as needed and re-organize multimedia equipment for next service
  • Clean and store equipment as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Receive directions well
  • Experience mixing audio successfully in a live setting preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to think quickly and troubleshoot in high stress situations

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Internship

Pay: $1.00 - $10.00 per hour
