Job Description
We are looking for practicing attorneys, formerly practicing attorneys, or law professors with positive online reputations to review Family Law and Criminal Defense article content on FindLaw.com. This is a contract project beginning April 2023, 10-40 hours per week. Your name will be included on each reviewed and published article and linked to FindLaw.com and LawInfo.com biographies detailing your experience.
Project work will involve reviewing articles for legal accuracy and providing recommended changes for writers to implement. Applicants must have law degrees and at least ten years of experience in one or more of these fields:
Family Law- Criminal Law
Prior publication credentials are preferred. Candidates must have a positive online reputation and be considered experts in their area of law by the general public.

Job Duties:
Review FindLaw.com article content for legal accuracy- Research the law and provide updates in one or more legal practice areas
- Create tables summarizing state laws on specific legal areas (example: Capital Punishment Laws by State)
- Clearly communicate your recommended changes to FindLaw.com content teams
Qualifications:
J.D. required, Bachelor's degree required- 10+ years of practice experience in family law and/or criminal law required
- Proficiency with WestLaw legal research required
- Prior publication credentials preferred
- Prior web writing experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills of Preferred Candidate:
Has an interest in and significant experience researching legal topics and changes in the law- Enjoys explaining legal concepts to non-lawyers
- Comfortable being in the public eye
- Comfortable providing guidance to writers
- Works well under tight deadlines
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills
- Self-starter, with the ability to work independently
