Trek Bicycle is looking for an Assortment Planner to join our growing Inventory Planning Team. The Assortment Planner will develop and execute Trek Retail’s bicycle assortment strategy and curate amazing bicycle assortments for our retail stores. The Assortment Planner will collaborate with a team of Inventory Managers, our incredible retail store teams, and our Product and Forecasting teams to ensure our stores have the bikes they need to provide exceptional hospitality to our customers. This role is based out of Waterloo, WI. Remote work option available for the right candidate.
Position Responsibilities
  • Maintain product/category knowledge and current trends
  • Curate appropriate bicycle assortments for our retail stores and implement a rollout strategy alongside store and district leadership.
  • Manage new product introduction and exit strategy for all bicycle inventory
  • Maintain product forecasts and demand plans
  • Measure the health and performance of bicycle category
  • Generate and utilize reports with available business analytics tools
  • Design and maintain tools to support our retail stores
  • Coordinate with other departments such as visual, marketing and forecasting to launch and implement category assortments across North America.
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
  • Fun and flexible attitude with strong desire to exceed goals and expectation
  • Experience in purchasing, forecasting, or demand planning preferred
  • Technical knowledge of bicycle trends and categories
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently and deliver on project deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with management, retail store teams, and multiple departments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to present and lead virtual meetings.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel required
  • Knowledge of, demand planning software, and web-based analysis tools a plus
  • Operate with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritize competing projects
  • Occasional (quarterly) domestic travel up to 15% of role will involve travel.
