The City of Isanti is seeking a qualified applicant for the Associate Planner position. This person will perform a variety of detailed and professional work related to planning, zoning, community and economic development. We are looking for someone who is passionate in the field and is ready to make a positive impact serving the residents of Isanti. This position will work directly with building permit administration, rental license administration, sign permits, general zoning permits, and MS4 inspections.

Hourly wage: $27.46- $34.80
Starting wage and vacation will be determined based on qualifications and experience combined.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience reading maps, plats, and surveys.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to make sound judgement and offer solutions.
- Valid MN Class D driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Community Development, Urban Studies, or related field.
- Experience being contacted for zoning and land use questions.
- Experience in local government.
- Knowledge of storm-water management, permit processing and GIS systems.
- Experience working in planning/zoning or building inspections.
- Software experience using Laserfiche, GIS, Caselle Clarity, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
