About the Position:
Under the general direction of the Branch Chief of Internal/External Communications, a Staff Services Manager I (SSMI) in the Planning and Modal Program (PMP), Division of Program Management (PM2), this position serves as part of the Communications Team and will be responsible for supporting, sometimes leading, communication efforts for the Program's Divisions and Offices. This position develops, coordinates, implements and monitors multimedia content, including video, audio, images, and written text. This position will utilize multimedia technology expertise to develop and implement data analysis processes and techniques, as well as provide valuable insight and recommendations to support the Program's communication goals.
What You'll Do:
- Multimedia Content: In a lead role, plans, organizes, creates, and monitors for effectiveness technical work producing multimedia content, including; audio, video, text, live productions, and live-streaming for PMP, PMP Divisions and Offices. Works closely with management and subject matter experts to develop content, from concept to execution, for projects to ensure published content accurately reflects and communicates PMP’s products and services, Mission, Vision and strategic goals to internal and external stakeholders. Works with subject matter experts on the planning and execution of projects based on the most effective method of presentation. Selects and edits music and sound files as needed for video productions, creates graphics and animations using industry-standard software, and oversees live and post-production processing for video. Encodes and uploads projects for online distribution to websites such as YouTube, the Caltrans internal/external websites, file sharing sites, file servers, etc. Assists maintaining digital archives. Converts media between multiple formats. Consults and advises PMP management on the most appropriate method of multimedia communication for requested projects.
- Digital Files: Plans, organizes, and performs technical and professional digital imaging techniques to create photographic digital files and prints. Corrects and proofs final images for accurate color balance to produce the highest-quality images for clients in digital and print format. Crops, prints, and mounts images per customer specifications. Consults and advises clients to achieve their desired photographic outcome and ensures projects accurately reflect and communicate the Department’s activities, policies, procedures, mission, vision and strategic goals to internal and external stakeholders. Ensures a consistent message of PMP’s communication goals.
