Overview:
Quinnipiac University's Office of Development and Alumni Affairs invites applications for an Associate Director of Digital Engagement to create and manage a comprehensive array of communications related to alumni programming, alumni storytelling, annual fund solicitations, volunteer initiatives, and donor engagement strategies. This highly motivated, results-driven professional will assist in promoting and managing a high-level alumni engagement program with a focus on increasing the depth and diversity of relationships in support of the University.

They will proactively collaborate with others in the division and across the University to ensure that all communications to constituents adhere to university branding and messaging guidelines and are managed as part of a strategic communications plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for collaborating with Alumni Affairs, Development and University Marketing colleagues to create alumni and donor communications that are consistent and thoughtful; and executing on a comprehensive array of communications related to programming, volunteer opportunities, stewardship, donor retention, and alumni benefits
  • Support the development and implementation of a dynamic, clearly defined digital communications strategic calendar aligned with other University departments, including but not limited to email communication, website content creation and management, annual giving solicitations and monthly alumni e-newsletters and regular school/college e-newsletters
  • Manage, enhance and expand the use of social media platforms to engage alumni, donors, parents and families, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Generates, edits, publishes, and shares engaging social content regularly. Communicates with followers in a timely manner
  • Develops data-informed growth strategies for content development and distribution and measure performance and user needs with an eye toward growing positive interactions with the University.
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains processes, guidelines, and schedules to ensure timely and updated content
  • Collaborates with University partners, to create and promote relevant content
  • Create and embed metrics to measure the success of each platform
  • Develop a social media ambassadors’ program and social media feature series designed to highlight the accomplishments of alumni while elevating reach and engagement
  • Proactively collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams/clients to create and design a wide range of marketing and communications materials, including but not limited to digital invitations, online form development and registration, signage, and direct mail
  • Research and write alumni stories that support Development and Alumni Affairs initiatives
  • Assist in the planning and implementing of all Alumni and Development events both on and off-campus, including the design and production of event invitations, promotions, emails, and post-event follow-up
  • Develop integrated communications plans for each event and programmatic activity to align with the overall divisional calendar and strategy
  • Assist with the management of the alumni engagement community and mentoring platform
  • Develop strategic partnerships and collaborative relationships to support the alumni communications needs of the University beyond Development and Alumni Affairs
  • Edit or rewrite existing copy as necessary
  • Develop brief digital content quickly for tight deadlines
  • Develop digital content that demonstrates the impact of a Quinnipiac University education to engage alumni and make the case for philanthropic support
  • Opportunity to manage interns and/or student workers to support digital content development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree in Marketing/Communications preferred

Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in digital communications
  • Demonstrated understanding of web/digital communication technology and best practices
  • Ability to create compelling social media content
  • Exceptional writing abilities with experience adapting content for multiple channels
  • Highly developed project management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality communication pieces
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline and goal-oriented environment, serving internal clients and external constituents, simultaneously balancing diverse responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively, give guidance, share and receive constructive feedback, and integrate varying points of view
  • Commitment to the highest standards of professional and personal behavior; excellent judgment and the ability to treat confidential information with discretion
  • Commitment to diversity in all its forms and across all audiences, internal and external
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of digital content development software such as Canva, Adobe Suite, video editing programs, etc. preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; knowledge of project management programs is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business correspondence, marketing materials and reports
  • Ability to quickly and effectively gather information by means of interviews, database research, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
