    About the Position:

    Saint Ignatius High School, a highly successful Jesuit college preparatory school for boys in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an Associate Director of Alumni Relations. The Associate Director of Alumni Relations will develop, implement and manage strategies to enhance the school's relationship with its alumni. Plan and carry out programs that keep alumni informed about the school and engaged in its progress. The Associate Director works closely with the Director of Annual & Leadership Giving to foster a culture within the Alumni community for annual gifts. This position is a full-time, exempt 12-month position and reports to the Director of Development.

    Primary Areas of Responsibility :

    • Act as a liaison between the alumni council members and the school in promoting activities that support the mission of the school.
    • Works closely with the Director of Special Events to plan, organize, and conduct programs for alumni, assuring that they are part of a larger strategic process of prospect identification and cultivation.
      • Reunions – recruit volunteers, organize planning meetings, communicate with committees regularly, plan event programs, and coordinate with the reunion-giving program.
      • Ignatius Connections Tour – with the Major Gift Officers, identify cities each year to conduct in-person Alumni Events, organize and attend events
      • Awards Programs - Bellarmine, Distinguished Alumnus, Founders – work with (council) committees in planning and running the programs.
      • Plan and execute the annual Alumni Retreat
      • Alumni Golf – work with (council) committees in planning and running the Koch alumni and senior golf outing.
      • Coordinating several other alumni groups and events each year
    • Website – provide updates for alumni related activities and news, as well as develop other means of using the website to connect with Alumni
    • Budget – manage and maintain the alumni budget
    • Alumni Networking Platform – Promote and grow an alumni networking platform
    • Professional development – attend relevant conferences and attend roundtable meetings with a local group of alumni directors
    • Serve as campaign liaison for advancement and alumni for current and all future campaigns.
    • Duties as otherwise assigned and determined by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Two to four years of professional development experience, including a successful track record in marketing, event coordination, and volunteer management
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with donors, volunteers, and staff
    • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially
    • Strong proficiency in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
    • Hands-on experience with Raiser's Edge preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to travel when required
    • Goal-oriented team player

    About Saint Ignatius High School:

    Saint Ignatius High School, which opened its doors on September 6, 1886, is a Jesuit college-preparatory school. The school enrolls more than 1,400 young men who hail from 92 cities in an 11-county region. Located in close proximity to downtown Cleveland in the vibrant and energetic Ohio City neighborhood, the school occupies 23 acres and includes 19 buildings and three athletic fields. The school has 114 faculty members, 89 percent of whom hold advanced degrees. Fifty-six percent have spent 10 years or more teaching at Saint Ignatius.

    Saint Ignatius is also home to The Welsh Academy, a middle school for boys from local families of modest economic means, founded in 2019. The Academy enrolls more than 60 boys in grades 6-8 and occupies Kesicki Hall on campus.

    Academically, Saint Ignatius is a regional and state leader in National Merit finalists. To challenge students and prepare them for college, the Saint Ignatius curriculum offers 17 Advanced Placement (AP) and 21 honors subjects. In September 2009, the school was designated a Blue Ribbon school by the US Department of Education.
