KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Conflicts of Interest to join our Risk Management organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply an introductory understanding of the applicable conflict of interest rules and professional standards, including AICPA/IESBA, to identify, evaluate, and manage conflicts of interest, and provide entry-level guidance directly to field professionals on the application of such policy and rules in an area that requires limited judgment
  • Execute tasks that contribute to Conflicts Center of Excellence’s (Conflicts COE) projects and processes with appropriate supervision; manage a queue of multiple tasks that generally have short-term deadlines; serve as a role model to peers
  • Perform basic conflict of interest technical research as directed by supervisors to contribute to the provision of technical guidance and to execute tasks; display an introductory level of understanding of the impact of decisions on Audit, Advisory or Tax engagement teams and clients
  • Interface regularly with Conflicts COE manager and director-level professionals regarding the execution of tasks and responsibilities that contribute to achieving desired outcomes for the Independence Group
  • Identify opportunities for innovation within executed tasks, processes and projects that contribute to the improved efficiency and effectiveness of the Conflicts COE
  • Participate in and prepare for interactions with Audit, Advisory, or Tax professionals to provide guidance regarding the application of professional conflict of interest standards along with a supervisor; directly interface with Audit, Advisory, or Tax professionals on entry-level or routine matters involving professional standards or firm policy with limited involvement of a supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of recent work experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to contribute to projects, processes, or programs under some supervision
  • Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, organizational and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
  • Highly collaborative, effective team player, and ability to build productive relationships with peers.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market-based salary ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), for example. Albany Salary Range: Low: $59500 - High: $81100
