GRADE: 17 NON-BARGAINING UNIT FLSA: EXEMPT

BASIC FUNCTION

Serve as a key member of the president’s leadership team by providing leadership and administrative oversight of Vermont State University’s online programs. Execute a vision of online programming that supports the Vermont State University mission and vision and generates enrollment growth and retention in online students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with faculty and admissions to develop effective recruitment strategies resulting in online program growth.
  • Support marketing initiatives to generate and oversee partnerships that result in enrollment growth.
  • Work with faculty, Associate VP of Workforce, Community, and Economic Development, and administration to design and guide the development of relevant, need-inspired, and innovative, micro-credential, certificate, and degree programs.
  • Ensure online degree programs meet or exceed US Department of Education and NECHE quality assurance standards and maintain compliance with licensure requirements, where appropriate.
  • Work with Program Coordinators to hire faculty teaching in online programs.
  • Work with Program Coordinators to develop online course rotations and schedules.
  • Implement best practices for online program delivery.
  • Work as liaison with the Center for Teaching and Learning to provide faculty support and development with online course delivery.
  • Maintain membership with NC-SARA.

Direct supervision of staff members in the unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience in higher education administration and administrative oversight of online programs.
  • Supervisory experience and track record of office leadership in an institution of higher education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate.
  • Demonstrated success in growing online program enrollments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of best practices and quality assurance in distance education delivery.
  • Knowledge of contemporary trends in online degree program demand.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty.
  • Strong planning, administrative and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool such as Slate.
  • Proven experience and on-going commitment to developing own professional knowledge and the professional knowledge of team members regarding diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice and how it informs their practices within their area of expertise

Location: This position may be based on any of the Vermont State University’s campuses. Hybrid remote arrangements may be feasible.
