Executive Communications
The Assistant Vice President, Executive Communications (AVP) works in conjunction with the Vice President, Executive Communications (VP), members of Nuveen's Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and business partners who support them to craft written communications for both internal and external audiences. Examples include internal memos, intranet and Internet content, thought leadership pieces, client letters, award nominations, survey introductions, and by-line articles.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Understand the message that needs to be delivered, the audience for which the message is intended, and the channel(s) that will be employed to deliver the message

  • Craft and edit the message using input from the ELT member, business partner, and VP.

  • Coordinate with internal and/or external partners on a distribution plan and formatting requirements.

  • Review the final message in its intended format prior to distribution.

  • Compile and share recommendations on messaging and formats to drive better results for the ELT member and/or business partner
Educational Requirements
  • University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience
  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred
Physical Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of professional writing experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional writing experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience writing directly for, with, or about executives or senior-level leaders required
  • 3+ years of professional experience writing about financial services
  • Bachelor of Arts in Communications, English, or Journalism

Base Pay Range: $78,300/yr. - $130,500/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
