Computer Information Systems is part of the CSU Pueblo Malik and Seeme Hasan School of Business (HSB). The school offers a BS in Computer Information Systems, a BSBA in Management with an IT emphasis, and a joint BS-CIS/MBA 3 plus 2 program. The CIS program is supported by six full-time faculty members and has three concentrations: software development, data analytics and cyber security. Program details are available at:

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredits the Hasan School of Business.

New tenure-track faculty members are assigned nine-hour teaching loads and are expected to engage in on-going scholarly activities. The School enrolls over 600 students in its undergraduate programs (with the largest major in business management) and about 100 students in its MBA program. The MBA program is designed to meet the educational needs of working professionals in southeastern Colorado. The School is housed in a modern building and includes 22 full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members.

Description of Job

This is a tenure-track, nine-month position at CSU Pueblo Malik and Seeme Hasan School of Business (HSB) in Castle Rock. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate (MBA) courses in accordance with program needs. Primary courses to be taught will most likely include cybersecurity (IT Security & Risk Management, Computer Forensics), Linux and Windows systems administration, database management, and may include other essential courses in Computer Information Systems such as client-side and server-side web development and programming language.

**All responsibilities of faculty members at CSU Pueblo are in accordance with the Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook is the authoritative guide on specific requirements with regard to teaching assignments, scholarly activity, research, and service.

Primary Duties

  • Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in accordance with program needs.
    Prepares and presents course materials; administers appropriate tests; evaluates student outcomes; selects texts; prepares, administers and grades assignments; and assigns final grades. Participates in proposing curriculum changes and program modifications.
  • Engages in appropriate scholarly activities to maintain currency in disciplinary fields. Maintains a research program that generates scholarly outputs including conference presentations, refereed journal publications and other scholarly works. CSU Pueblo and the HSB encourage our faculty members to include our students in scholarly activity; such activities would be strongly supported.
  • Participates in service activities that include shared governance, professional service and community service.
Salary Range:
$115,000 - $130,000

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate or ABD from an AACSB accredited institution in Computer information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Ability to teach cybersecurity ( Cyber Security & Defense, IT Security Risk Management), AND two or more of the following areas: Linux, Windows systems administration, database management, web development, and programming languages. Please specify courses you are qualified to teach in cover letter.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity and research leading to scholarly publication
  • Successful post-secondary teaching experience in the information systems field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong collegial and collaborative skills
  • Technical work experience in the information technology field
  • Experience with and commitment to working with diverse student populations and commitment to equity in education at all levels
  • Experience and/or commitment to the use of technology as an instructional tool
Condition of Employment
