Summary of Job Duties:
The position involves applied research at UA Little Rock in the Consortium for Cyber Innovation (CCI), which brings together multiple universities, industry, and government agencies to work on emerging problems in cybersecurity operations. Additionally, the position includes teaching and advancing the curriculum in cybersecurity for undergraduate and graduate students. Teaching duties will be consistent with load standards at UA Little Rock. The candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong program of research including publication in refereed journals and conferences and pursue external research funding. Service to the university will include serving on committees within the department, the college, or the university as well as providing service to the pertinent academic disciplines. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
  • Doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field (exemplary experience may also be considered for applicants with a Master’s degree in a related field);
  • Must be able to obtain a US government security clearance.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility;
  • Consistent cybersecurity research and publication record;
  • Commitment to excellence in both graduate and undergraduate education;
  • Significant leadership experience with community building and outreach;
Job Duties and Responsibilites:
  • Develop curriculum and new modes of instruction;
  • Teach effectively in classroom and lab settings;
  • Establish and sustain independent research;
  • Produce scholarly publications in leading scientific journals;
  • Present at major conferences;
  • Work with major funding agencies;
  • Secure external funding;
  • Supervise graduate students;
  • Participate in and contribute to major professional societies;
  • Participate in shared faculty governance and departmental committees;
  • Contribute through research, teaching, and service to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience in order to train the next generation of computer scientists;
  • Foster relationships with representatives of the Central Arkansas cybersecurity industry;
  • Perform other duties as needed in the department, college, and university.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Abilities to develop and sustain a productive research program in cybersecurity;
  • The ability to supervise graduate students and postdocs in cybersecurity;
  • The ability to teach and advance the curriculum in cybersecurity effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
