POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Nutrition Director is an opportunity for you to use a wide array of skills to help deliver a critical service addressing food insecurity among older adults. The Assistant Nutrition Director oversees the daily operations of Springwell’s Nutrition Program, which includes the delivery of daily meals in twenty-two communities in coordination with a catering contractor, an array of staging and community dining site staff, and a fleet of drivers. In this position, you will assist with implementing new and existing projects and quality control of foodservice as well as provide direct supervision to assigned staff.

This is a great position for someone who is detail-oriented, flexible, and enjoys customer service. One phone call can completely change your plans as we ensure meal delivery under a wide variety of conditions (weather, unexpected absences, etc). Ensuring that ordering and reporting is accurate is key, and nutrition standards must be met daily. Finally, developing and maintaining relationships with staff, community partners, vendors, and consumers is crucial to the program’s success.

QUALIFICATIONS

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Either a Bachelor’s degree, or three years of management experience
  • Knowledge of nutrition and food service
  • One year of program management experience
  • One year of supervision experience
  • Computer literacy; experience with database management; Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A reliable car, current driver's license and safe driving record required
