Seeing a highly motivated individual to be an assistant herdsperson on a modern livestock and crop enterprise:

De-Su Holsteins is a multi-generational family farm based in New Albin, Iowa with locations in Spring Grove, Mabel and Caledonia, Minnesota. Home to 2300 Holsteins, 800 registered Angus, 6,000 acres of corn and alfalfa and employs close to 45 people. All animals are housed in modern facilities, we perform an extensive amount of embryo transfer and operate all late model John Deere equipment.

This position will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of our milking herd and youngstock as directed. Responsibilities include but aren't limited to: fresh/sick cow care and vaccinating, calf care, assisting with embryo transfer recipient groups, sorting and moving cattle, and inputting data.

Candidate must have valid driver's license and be knowledgeable of computer record management systems and general cow care and handling. Some weekends and holiday's will be required. Compensation depends on the candidate's skill level. This position is an entry level position and has the potential to develop into a career centered around personal interests and skillsets.
