We are seeking an Assistant Fashion Designer who can work alongside our Designer to develop new designs for our womenswear fashion line. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of pattern, garment construction and fit, as well as graphic design skills.Requirements:

• Ability to accurately spec garments

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task

• Exceptional communication (verbal +written) and organizational skills

Team-oriented, open to taking direction, and able to work well under pressure

• 3+ years experience in technical design and product development

• Computer Skills: Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Building technical sketches in Illustrator• Accurately creating tech packs and spec sheets for garments

• Fitting garments and taking detailed and accurate notes

• Performing accurate measurements to ensure that size grading standards are within tolerance levels for specific fabric types

• Utilizing clear communication with overseas factories

• Evaluating samples to ensure previous changes have been made

• Analyzing fit, construction and workmanship issues

• Assisting Designer on other departmental tasks as necessary
