JOB SUMMARY:
Work with the Director of Facilities Management to plan and manage operations and maintenance of MAHEC facilities. This position also has project management responsibilities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilizes CMMS system to manage the Preventative Maintenance Program for all MAHEC Facilities.
  • Performs annual Facilities Condition Inspections at all sites including MAHEC Student Housing and works with the Maintenance Crew leader to assign and complete maintenance needed.
  • Manages various service contracts for maintenance and operation of MAHEC facilities such as grounds maintenance, cleaning, and waste removal services (including Medical and Pharmaceutical waste)
  • Manages all contracted cleaning services for MAHEC satellites and student housing. This includes regular inspection of satellite offices and coordinating special requests with the service providers.
  • Assists the Facilities Director in managing contracts and subcontracts related to MAHEC construction projects. This may include preparing specifications, obtaining bids and managing subcontracts and FFE procurement.
  • This position is responsible for key control at all MAHEC facilities.

SPECIFIED SKILLS
  • COMPUTER
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Facilities Management software systems for Maintenance, Room management, Housing, Security and access controls.
  • FOREIGN LANGUAGE
    • Not Applicable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Light - Moderate energy level: Lift and carry 25 - 35 lbs, Push/Pull 50 - 100 lbs (empty bed, stretcher, etc.)
  • Occasional (0 - 33% of Workday)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervises the Maintenance Team
  • Management of Shuttle operations, with supervision of the Shuttle Driver team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or at least 5 years equivalent experience in positions with similar responsibilities.
    • Facilities Management experience required.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Facilities Management certification from BOMA, IFMA or HCFMA.
REQUIRED LICENSES:
  • Valid NC driver’s license required.
SCHEDULE:
Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per workweek; weekend, holiday, or evening coverage is occasionally required. Work hours will need to be flexible in order to respond to special work assignments, or evening activities, as requested by the team leader.
