Job description
The Assistant Director supports the Director and provides general management and assistance of one or more of the Emergency Services programs and participates in the overall management of the organization.
- Assist with implementation, planning and development of the comprehensive Climate and disaster related programs.
- Provide assistance, guidance and direction to program staff.
- Assist the Director in supervision of program staff and implementation of programs in accordance with the values and mission of SHE.
- Represent SHE to partner agencies and participants.
- Prepare required internal and external activity and progress reports.
- Assure compliance with SHE policies and with quality and cost standards at all program levels.
- Effectively coordinate activities with other SHE programs.
- Maintain effective communication with SHE partners, funders, and regulators in a way that furthers positive working relationships.
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor.

- Program creation & implementation
- Strong technical, management and administrative experience for all Emergency Services climate and disaster related work
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Must be able to think and react quickly under pressure.
Position will require some night and weekend and field based work.
