Lead strategy, implementation and assess learning outcomes for innovative and transformational programs and services offered through the Center for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Social Change (IDEAS) in concert with Director. Provide support and guidance to historically marginalized students, such as students who may identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Collaborate in the development, coordination and design of educational experiences and learning opportunities to enhance students’ intellectual, social and leadership development.Position/Job Summary

Collaborate in the development, coordination and design of educational experiences and learning opportunities to enhance students’ intellectual, social and leadership development. Oversee and administer the A Place Where You Belong Jumpstart, First Fridays, Ithaca Achievement Program (IAP), and Heritage/History Month Programming. Support the Director with ongoing assessment process of programs to address students’ needs and concerns. Coordinate yearly events with campus partners: the welcome back and senior award ceremony.
Supervision
This position receives day-to-day guidance, direction, and reports to the Director of the Center for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Social Change (IDEAS).
Position/Job Responsibilities
Lead strategy, implementation, and assess learning outcomes for programs and initiatives that support historically underrepresented and under-resourced students such as: A Place Where You Belong Jumpstart, Café with IDEAS, and First Fridays.
Oversee and administer the Ithaca Achievement Program (IAP) with support of the IDEAS Program Coordinator with the goal of student retention and creating a sense of belonging
Mentor, educate, and train student staff to deliver educational workshops to increase awareness and understanding of equity and inclusion for and among students.
Refer and connect students to appropriate resources for academic, social or clinical counseling and assistance.
Serve as designated Title IX Confidential Resource.
Support the Director with ongoing assessment to improve delivery of programs and services offered, and that help address students’ needs and concerns.
Assist the Director in establishing long and short-term goals and objectives that align with the goals of the Center for IDEAS and the Division for Student Affairs and Campus Life.
Oversee and administer the Heritage/History Month Programming through monthly events such as hosting office events, passive educational initiatives, coordinate IC Day of Learning iterations, and collaboratively promoting campus partner initiatives/events.
Lead the strategy and execute the planning of social media campaigns in coordination with Program Coordinator (including but not limited to: Black History Month, Latinx Heritage Month, Disability Awareness Month, Native American/Indigenous Heritage Month, and Focus Asia Month)
Coordinate with campus partners annual welcome back/kick off and end-of-year recognition award ceremonies (Welcome Back Event, Winter Kickback, Seniors of Color Leadership Awards).
Participate in strategic planning, budget planning, and other high-level decision-making processes for the Center.
Co-Lead the Students of Color Coalition, consulting and collaborating with faculty and staff to support cultural/identity-based student organizations.
Serve as a representative for the Center for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Social Change on SACL Committees and summer orientation sessions.
Plan and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion-related workshops, training, and programs that support underrepresented student populations, such as students who may identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
Develop and demonstrate competencies to cultivate an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Position/Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree required, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education administration or experience working with historically marginalized and under-resourced students; demonstrated success in working with a diverse student population; experience working with students in an educational setting and understanding of contemporary equity-minded leadership development and identity development theory, research, and practice; , familiarity with trends in educational development and diverse issues in higher education; strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment; demonstrated commitment to student development, ability to plan and facilitate training and development workshops, ability to work independently and as a member of a team, and flexibility to work nights and weekends are required. May need to travel on and off campus to various functions; may need to drive or to make alternative travel arrangements.
Preferred:
Master’s degree preferred, a minimum of two years of experience in higher education administration or experience working with historically marginalized and under-resourced students;

HIRING RANGE : $55,341 - $57,000
