Main Function

Assists the Cook Supervisor in the facilitation of the preparation of meals and Food Service employees - providing proper quantities and quality of food served to Manor residents, guests and staff. Maintains high standard of sanitation practices.

1. Takes initiative in completing work that needs to be accomplished within area of responsibility.

2. Follows menus provided, making changes only with the consent of the Food Service Manager or Cook Supervisor.

3. Follows food production schedules provided by the Cook Supervisors.

4. Assists in preparation of all foods on the menus provided for residents, guests, and staff using standardized recipes based on standard portion size.

5. Maintains high standards of quality food production and portion control using standardized recipes.

6. Calculates food preparation to meet meal service and special event/function requirements using good time management principles.

7. Prepares food and facilitates, in accordance with policies and procedures, the Dining and Nutrition Services Department in the absence of the Cook Supervisor.

8. Serves the main entrees or checks the meal service tray line for food quality, portion size, and diet accuracy, using menus provided.
