Responsibilities: Under the direction and supervision of the Academy Director. The functions of the teacher will include:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Responsible for providing instructional leadership, managing and leading the staff and overseeing the facility. Responsible for providing for the overall well being of the Academy students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Academy Director demonstrates leadership abilities by creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for all families enrolled! The Assistant Academy Director assists the Academy Director and District Manager in operating the center in accordance with Nevada Childcare licensing policies, procedures and QRIS High Quality standards to provide an educational, nurturing, and safe environment for children, staff and parents. The Assistant Academy Director is responsible for all school operations and assumes all Director responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Director. This individual also meets expectations for delivering exceptional customer service to families enrolled at the school.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma required, Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of ProCare (or the willingness and ability to learn.)
  • Bookkeeping experience is preferred
  • Completed at least two (2) full years of experience working under supervision primarily with preschoolers in a licensed child care center, preschool or Head Start.
  • A well developed philosophy on the education of young children, which parallels with the educational philosophy of Source Academy.

QUALIFICATIONS

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Under administrative direction by the Academy Director. Reports to Academy Director.

PLANNING:

Considerable responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work, in addition, the organization and delegation of work operations for a group of employees engaged in widely diversified activities as assigned by the Academy Director.

MENTAL DEMAND:

Highly intense mental demand. Continual involvement with strategic and operational management functions which relate to both the short-term and long-term time periods.

USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS:

Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop, laptop, tablets, computer and software, etc.)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fulfills all record-keeping responsibilities.
  • Conducts tours and provide interested families with information about our program.
  • Understands and assists staff members with developmentally appropriate practice in Early Childhood Education.
  • Implements and supervises staff members with company policies and procedures.
  • Supervises closing staff and ensures building is clean and secure at the end of each day.
  • Complies with, and implements, Nevada Health & Childcare Licensing regulations regarding the care of children.
  • Assist teachers with managing behavior problems.
  • Keeps inventory of school supplies.
  • Keeps the Director informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of children.
  • Assists and accepts responsibility in other daily center duties that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, center events, and parent/customer meetings as requested.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
