This position is located at MCAS MIRAMAR. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a SENIOR LOSS PREVENTION AGENT - ASSET PROTECTION ASSOCIATE.


Major Duties


Maintains surveillance throughout designated activities, observing customers and employees. In an effort to prevent and detect dishonest acts, investigates suspected acts of dishonesty or procedure violations.

Detains suspects and escorts them to the Loss Prevention Office. Prepares reports pertaining to incidents, after gathering facts and evidence, and maintains close liaison with law enforcement authorities. Assists the Asset Protection Manager on cash and inventory audits at various locations documenting and reporting discrepancies. Conducts monthly audits on firearms and ammunition. Monitors internal and external security systems to ensure they are working properly. Provides guidance to other agents for policies already in place.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor when problems arise.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates skill in applying security techniques and methods. Ability to protect property from theft, trespass, damage, and destruction, and to patrol assigned areas by foot or vehicle. Knowledge of how to prepare reports of incidents and security conditions. Skill to communicate effectively and apply physical security techniques and methods under various security situations. Valid driver’s license. Ability to acquire a valid government vehicle operator’s license to operate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of up to 10,000 pounds. Must be skilled in written and oral presentations with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees, management, and customers. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.

Ability to successfully complete and obtain/maintain a favorable background investigation at the Tier 3 level security clearance. This is a “covered position” for the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act for Department of the Navy civilian personnel. Due to contact with firearms, or ammunition in accomplishing work, DD Form 2760 certifying whether or not a “qualifying conviction” for a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence has occurred MUST be completed. The continuing obligation to notify the immediate supervisor of any qualifying conviction through completion of DD Form 2760 is REQUIRED.
